Experience the Fascination of Colours
The special exhibition "COLOURS" at the Novartis Pavillon combines the playful with the educational and appeals to both children and adults.
Colours touch us emotionally; they help us with orientation and enrich our lives in many ways. We can perceive around 200 colour tones with our eyes; when we add the variations of brightness, saturation and white content, there are approximately 20 million Colours in total that the human eye can distinguish. How this wealth of Colours emerges, how they are applied and what influence they have on us – this is what the exhibition by French physicist and curator Céline Nadal at the Novartis Pavillon explores.
Through the combination of authentic objects and interactive experiences from art and science, the exhibition appeals to people of all age groups, regardless of whether they have come to see beautiful things or to learn, marvel, have fun or experiment.
Visitors have the opportunity to conduct physical and sensory experiments themselves as well as discover real objects, contemporary artworks or games that appeal to all the senses: sight, touch, hearing and smell. A textile herbarium with plant Colours and a color-card dress were also specially created for this exhibition.
For the special exhibition "Colours," the exhibition makers have chosen a direct connection to materiality and experimentation that enables the presentation of original objects and "low-tech" instead of virtual experiences.
The concept of this exhibition, unique in Switzerland, offers the opportunity to discover the fascination of Colours with all senses and learn something new in a playful way.
Admission is free.
We look forward to your visit!
