Tuesday, May 13, 2025 | 6.00 - 7.00 p.m. (Apéro afterwards)
More and more scientific studies show that music can have a positive effect on the brain and especially on multiple sclerosis. The ESC inspires us to show a short film in the Pavilion that highlights the diverse effects of music on the human brain. This will be followed by an engaging conversation between a scientist and a music therapist.
This event will be held in German.

Molecules into Melodies
Thursday, May 15, 2025 | 12:00 - 13:00
Dr. Nora Eifler, a PhD structural biologist, develops an innovative connection between science and music. She transforms protein sequences into sounds: "Proteins consist of amino acids, and the sequence of these amino acids makes each protein unique." She translates the letter code of amino acids into chord progressions like E – D – F – A, creating novel melodies that can be played on the piano or arranged for various ensembles.
In this lunch event, Dr. Eifler provides insights into her fascinating work and presents a live musical performance of her protein compositions with her band.
The event will be held in English.
