Novartis Pavillon

behind the science Hero Image

Join us on a fascinating journey into the wonderful world of imaging! On this special evening, you’ll have a unique opportunity to go behind the scenes of the impressive art of image creation with renowned masters of their craft.

We’re delighted to present a one-of-a-kind collaboration: the hand-colored microscopy images of internationally acclaimed photographer Martin Oeggerli are united with the innovative screen-printing techniques of pioneer Lorenz Boegli. Martin Oeggerli will offer insights into how his fantastic visual worlds are created using the scanning electron microscope and explain how the subsequent manual coloring helps viewers decode the images.

Lorenz Boegli, internationally known as an innovative screen-printing artist, will show us how he has extended—and even shifted—the boundaries of printing. With passion, experience, and technical excellence, he has revolutionized screen printing, for example through the development of additive four-color RGB printing. Since 1981, Lorenz has been exploring the possibilities of screen printing in its various forms, helping artists and designers worldwide realize their visions in pigment and on paper.

On this occasion, we will also present a limited edition art card set, “Microscopic Art meets the alchemy of printing,” limited to 300 copies, created through the collaboration of the two artists with Studio Andreas Mesmer.

Look forward to an evening full of inspiration and creative insights that you won’t want to miss. We can’t wait to welcome you to this unique event!

The event will be held in German.
