In the lecture "High-Tech on Six Legs," Dr. Jürgen Tautz invites audiences to rediscover the fascinating world of insects. Using impressive macro photography and vivid examples, he demonstrates how ingeniously and innovatively these creatures are constructed – from the bombardier beetle to sensory organs that can detect distant forest fires. His perspective makes tangible the central role insects play in our ecosystems and how greatly we humans benefit from their inventiveness. A lecture that sparks curiosity and sustainably broadens one's view of nature.

Dr. Jürgen Tautz is one of the defining voices in modern behavioral research. The emeritus professor from the Biocenter of the University of Würzburg has spent many decades exploring the diversity of the animal kingdom – always with an eye toward making science accessible and engaging. His popular science books, published worldwide in up to 20 languages, have received multiple awards and captivate a broad audience. With his ability to communicate complex biological relationships clearly and inspiringly, he is considered today one of the most important science communicators in the German-speaking world.
