Behind the Science ADHD

Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) at the Intersection of Solid Diagnosis and Media Presence

ADHD was first described in the mid-19th century, yet from an evolutionary psychology perspective, such a set of thinking, feeling, behaviour, and social interaction patterns must have made sense much earlier in human history. Social network sites (SNS) such as TikTok®, YouTube®, and Instagram® now disseminate a wide range of self-assessment scales, symptom descriptions, and diagnostic criteria. The authors of such content often remain unclear, and the volume of AI-generated texts continues to grow steadily.

The event provides an overview of the diagnostic criteria for ADHD and describes the similarities and overlaps with other mental health conditions. The advantages of ADHD are also highlighted, along with the pros and cons of the range of available treatment options.

This event will be held in German.
